All parts of this experiment sit between the compression area of the HSM58 apparatus (not supplied).
A disc specimen is clamp firmly on top of a hardened die, and it is then raised onto a punch.
As all three parts come into contact, the punch starts to move into the die, taking disc material with it, and forming a cupped shape.
Two sets of specimen discs are supplied, in copper and aluminium.
Tools are supplied, along with grease lubricant.
