The Hilton range of vocational refrigeration and air conditioning equipment is specifically designed for the practical training of installation and service engineers. Though standard and recognisable refrigeration components are used, the units are designed to provide students with experience that is not available using modified commercial equipment. The units are designed for safe operation by students of all abilities.

B400 Acoustic Impedence Tube

The Hilton Acoustic Impedance Tube/Acoustic Insulation Test Apparatus, B400 has been designed to provide students with a simple and easily understood method of investigating the relative acoustic properties of various materials.

HAK14 Check Valve Assembly

The HAK14 is designed for the students to become familiar with the assembly, functionality and operation of an industry standard check valve.

B600 Noise Control Demonstration Unit

The Hilton Noise Control and Demonstration unit B600 has been specifically designed to provide a practical and graphic illustration of the effectiveness of the main methods of noise and vibration control.

B701 Fire Alarm Trainer

The Hilton Fire Alarm trainer B701 and Alarm Wiring Kits B720 have been designed to provide students with hands on experience of installation, commissioning and the operation of the various types of detector and alarm components.

801 Visual Refrigeration Training Unit

A fundamental level vocational refrigeration unit with a transparent evaporator. This device enables  students to see the change of state from liquid to gas. Three different types of expansion device may be introduced allowing their relative performance to be investigated.

Designed specifically for vocational applications, the unit is manufactured from standard refrigeration components.


802 Commercial Refrigeration Training Unit

This unit quickly enables the student engineer to learn how the basic principles of the Vapour-Compression Cycle, are applied in practical refrigeration, and provides valuable ‘Hands-On’ experience in: Fault diagnosis and correction; Refrigerant recovery and recycling; Changing components; Evacuation and Charging and Electrical work

The unit is also available in kit form as the model 803 for student assembly practice.

803 Basic Installation Training Package

The 803 is a complete package, in kit form, containing all the individual components needed to assemble and operate the unit 802 Commercial Refrigeration Training Unit.

This kit of parts, supported by a detailed instruction manual, will help the student to develop and practice the skills and techniques necessary to enable a successful commercial installation.  The 803 will give the student experience and practice in: Correct location of components; Cutting, flaring, bending and brazing of copper pipe; Electrical wiring; Evacuation, charging and leak testing; Operation, temperature control and switch adjustment.

804 Hermetic Refrigeration Training Unit

A dedicated hermetic refrigeration trainer with a capillary flow control and a range of switch activated faults for student practice. Using the push button switches, five system faults can be introduced into the system: Excess discharge pressure; Faulty compressor valve; Choked capillary; Overcharged system; Undercharged system. Students can then practice fault location.

805 Advanced Refrigeration Training Unit

A fully operational small scale commercial cold room, with a range of push button actuated built in faults. The unit allows comparison of internal and externally equalised thermostatic expansion valves in a realistic environment. A range of heat loads, allow the cold room to operate under realistic conditions

808 Reverse Cycle Refrigeration and Air Con Training Unit

A small scale forced draught evaporator demonstrating both air conditioning and refrigeration principles, where reverse cycle operation is utilised for evaporator defrost. An air cooled condensing unit is fitted with a water cooled condenser and condenser pressure control for comparison purposes.

A finned static evaporator is also provided that may be brought into the circuit and operated at a different temperature to the main fan operated evaporator by means of an evaporator pressure regulator
