The study of jet propulsion remains an important part of many mechanical engineering and all aeronautical and military studies.

Gas turbines are the most commonly taught aspect of this technology but both ram jets and pulse jets remain of interest particularly given the developments in hypersonic and trans-sonic flight.

Having no moving parts, the two types of engine represent a low capital and maintenance cost alternative or addition to a gas turbine test facility.

P372 Jet Propulsion Test Stand

Test stand supplied complete with gas fuelled subsonic ram jet and pulse jet engines. Instrumentation is provided to measure thrust, drag and specific fuel consumption for both engines at various air speeds. In addition, the ram jet engine is provided with a means of measuring the total and static pressure along the engine axis.
