The Hl-PLAN 2 apparatus exploits the
visual impact to the full by giving the student fundamental experiments to prove the theory and
then moving on to models of beams and bridges and roof trusses to illustrate the application of
the theories. The general principle is to use a universal frame and stand or a bench mounted base
on which the different experiments can be assembled. The whole syllabus of Structural Mechanics from
the most elementary work on equilibrium to advanced work that might be in a postgraduate course
has been planned within Five Levels of the total educational spectrum. The start of the course is
suitable for technicians, while the experiments in Level 4 are used to explain the performance and
design of indeterminate structures to higher technicians and engineering undergraduates. Level 5
is devoted to Structural Dynamics, (relevant to earthquakes). Site last updated on 03.09.04 |
